[ D2C & E-commerce ]
D2C marketing built for profit, not just revenue
Growing sales is easy when you ignore margins. We help brands grow orders while watching acquisition cost, repeat purchase and contribution margin.
[ In short ]
What is D2C and e-commerce marketing?
D2C and e-commerce marketing is how a brand that sells directly to customers online attracts shoppers, converts them on its own store or marketplace listings, and brings them back to buy again, using paid social and search, product content, conversion optimisation, and email and WhatsApp retention flows.
Direct-to-consumer brands live and die by unit economics. Paid ads can buy a first order, but profit usually comes from the second and third. That is why we plan acquisition, conversion and retention together, and judge campaigns on what a customer is worth over time, not only on the first sale.

Rules that affect D2C brands
Online selling in India comes with advertising and consumer rules worth planning for.
- Influencer and creator collaborations should be clearly disclosed as advertising, as set out in ASCI guidelines.
- Product claims, especially for food, supplements and cosmetics, must be truthful and substantiated. Meta’s health and wellness policy adds age targeting rules for supplements and cosmetic products.
- Marketing messages on WhatsApp and email should go only to people who have opted in, with an easy way to stop them.

D2C & e-commerce marketing questions, answered
Still unsure? Ask us directly, or browse all our answers.
What is a good ROAS for a D2C brand?
There is no universal number. A good return on ad spend depends on your margins, average order value and how often customers buy again. We work backwards from contribution margin to set a target ROAS for your brand.
Should we sell on our own website or marketplaces?
Many brands do both. Marketplaces bring ready buyers, while your own store gives you customer data, better margins and the ability to build repeat purchases. We help you plan the role of each channel.
How often should we refresh ad creatives?
Regularly. Performance on Meta usually drops as the same audience sees an ad repeatedly, so we plan new creative batches on a fixed rhythm and keep testing new hooks and formats.
Can you help with repeat purchases?
Yes. Retention is where D2C profit usually sits. We set up post-purchase, replenishment and win-back flows on email and WhatsApp, and track repeat purchase rate monthly.
