Gym marketing that turns local attention into memberships

Your members live within a short drive of your door. We help you reach them, get them in for a trial and follow up until they join.

[ In short ]

What is digital marketing for gyms and fitness studios?

Gym and fitness marketing uses location-targeted ads, social content, Google Business Profile and a trial-booking website to attract people who live or work near your studio, then uses fast follow-up to turn trial visitors into paying members and keep them renewing.

Fitness is local, visual and emotional. People join when they can picture themselves in your space, trust your coaches and feel the offer is worth trying. The best gym marketing makes the first visit easy and the follow-up consistent, because most memberships are won after the trial, not before it.

Common growth problems for gyms & fitness

  • Sign-ups spike in January and at festival offers, then drop.
  • Instagram gets likes but few trial bookings.
  • Trial visitors leave without joining and nobody follows up.
  • Discount-led ads bring price shoppers who do not renew.

[ Our playbook ]

How we grow gyms & fitness

  1. 01

    Define the offer

The trial, programme or challenge that gets people through the door, and who it is for.

  2. 02

    Reach the neighbourhood

Location-targeted ads and local search so people nearby see you first.

  3. 03

    Make booking easy

A simple trial booking page with class times, pricing guidance and WhatsApp.

  4. 04

    Follow up to join

Reminders before the visit and a structured follow-up after it, measured by memberships.

[ Good to know ]

Fitness ads have their own rules

Fitness services and health clubs can advertise widely, but weight loss and body image claims are restricted.

  • Meta’s health and wellness policy restricts weight loss ads that attack appearance or show close-ups of body fat, and requires weight loss and cosmetic offers to target people aged 18 and over. General fitness services and health clubs are exempt from that age restriction.
  • Ads must not imply the viewer’s health or body condition, so “Lose your belly fat” is riskier than “Strength classes for beginners”.
  • Transformation claims should be honest and typical, in line with the ASCI advertising code.

Why gyms & fitness work with Be12 Media

  • Strategy first

Every campaign starts with research and a target, so nothing runs just because it’s possible.

  • One connected system

Strategy, ads, search, content and automation are planned together, so each channel makes the others work harder.

  • Measured by business results

We report on leads, conversions and revenue. Likes and reach are useful signals, never the goal.

Gyms & fitness marketing questions, answered

Still unsure? Ask us directly, or browse all our answers.

Should a gym advertise on Meta or Google?

Usually both, for different jobs. Meta Ads reach people nearby who are not searching yet, which suits trial offers and new programmes. Google Search and Maps capture people actively looking for a gym or class in your area.

Are discount offers a good idea for gyms?

They can fill trials quickly, but deep discounts often attract people who do not renew. We usually test value-led offers, such as a coached trial week or a beginner programme, against price offers and compare the members they bring.

How do we turn trial visitors into members?

With a clear follow-up process: a reminder before the visit, a welcome from a coach, and messages after the trial with a reason to join now. Many gyms lose members simply because nobody follows up.

Can you create content for our gym?

Yes. We plan and produce reels, posts and short videos featuring your coaches, classes and community, and schedule them so your social presence stays consistent.
