How CPC is calculated

Formula
CPC = ad spend ÷ clicks
Example
Spend 15,000 for 600 clicks: CPC = 25.

On Google Ads you rarely pay your maximum bid; the actual CPC depends on competitors and your Quality Score. Better ads and landing pages can lower it.

Questions about the CPC Calculator

How do I lower my CPC?

Improve relevance: tighter keyword groups, ads that repeat the searcher’s words, and landing pages that match the ad. On Meta, fresher creatives and broader audiences often help.

Does a high CPC mean the campaign is bad?

Not by itself. A 200 click that converts at 10% is cheaper per lead than a 20 click that converts at 0.5%. Look at cost per lead next.

Which clicks should I use from Meta Ads?

Use link clicks, not all clicks. All clicks include likes, profile taps and “see more”, which make CPC look lower than it really is.
