How to use the WhatsApp Link and QR Code Generator
- Choose your country code and enter your WhatsApp number.
- Write the message customers will see pre-filled, for example “Hi, I want to book an appointment”.
- Test the link, then copy it into your Instagram bio, website, ads or Google Business Profile.
- Download the QR code as PNG or SVG for print.

How WhatsApp click-to-chat links work
- Format
- https://wa.me/ followed by the full number in international format: country code and number, with no plus sign, spaces, brackets or leading zero.
- Pre-filled text
- Add ?text= and the message, URL encoded. The customer still taps send, so nothing is sent without their action.
- Tracking
- Use a different pre-filled message per channel (for example “Hi, I saw your Instagram ad”) to see which channel brings chats.
Click-to-chat works with both WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business numbers. The person chatting will see your number, so use your business line.

Questions about the WhatsApp Link and QR Code Generator
Do I need the WhatsApp Business API for this?
No. Click-to-chat links work with any WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app account and are free. The API is only needed for automated or bulk messaging.
Why does my link say the number is not on WhatsApp?
Usually the number format is wrong. Use the country code without a plus sign and drop any leading zero, for example 919876543210 for an Indian mobile number.
Can I track clicks on a WhatsApp link?
WhatsApp does not report link clicks. Put the link on a page with GA4 tracking, or use a unique pre-filled message per channel and count the chats that arrive with each one.
Is my number stored anywhere?
No. The link and QR code are created in your browser. Be12 Media never sees the number or message you type.
