[ FMCG & Food Brands ]
FMCG marketing that builds a brand people reach for
FMCG is won on the shelf, in the quick commerce app and in the shopper’s memory. We build the awareness, content and retail visibility that make your product the one people pick.
[ In short ]
What is digital marketing for FMCG brands?
FMCG digital marketing builds awareness and repeat purchase for fast-moving consumer goods and packaged food brands, using reach campaigns, influencer and creator content, marketplace and quick commerce listings, retail activation and community building, measured by reach, share of search, sales velocity and distribution growth.
FMCG products are low-ticket and bought on habit, so the job is to be remembered at the moment of choice. That means consistent reach with memorable creative, strong listings wherever people buy, and claims that are both appealing and fully compliant.

Food and product claims are regulated
Health, nutrition and comparison claims are what make FMCG ads persuasive, and what regulators check first.
- Food advertising and labelling claims are governed by the Food Safety and Standards (Advertising and Claims) Regulations, 2018: claims such as natural, fresh or high protein must meet FSSAI conditions.
- Health benefit and comparison claims must be substantiated under the ASCI code, and unfair comparisons with competitors are not allowed.
- Creator and influencer content must be clearly labelled as advertising under ASCI’s influencer guidelines; see our ASCI influencer checklist.

FMCG & food marketing questions, answered
Still unsure? Ask us directly, or browse all our answers.
How do FMCG brands use digital marketing?
Mainly to build awareness and memory at scale with video and social content, to win on marketplaces and quick commerce apps, and to show distributors and retailers there is real demand. Performance tracking focuses on sales velocity and repeat purchase.
Should a new FMCG brand sell online first?
Often yes. Marketplaces, quick commerce and your own website let you test pricing, messaging and demand in a few cities before investing in wide offline distribution.
Do influencers work for FMCG?
Yes, especially creators who show real usage, such as recipes or routines. Choose creators by audience fit rather than follower count, and make sure every paid post is properly disclosed.
Can we make health claims about our food product?
Only claims that meet FSSAI’s advertising and claims regulations and can be backed by evidence. We review claims before they go into any ad or creator brief.
