How to use the CTR Calculator

  1. Choose what to solve for: CTR, clicks or impressions.
  2. Enter the other two numbers (for email, use opens or delivered emails as impressions).
  3. Compare with your own past results for the same platform and placement.

How CTR is calculated

Formula
CTR = clicks ÷ impressions × 100
Example
180 clicks from 12,000 impressions: CTR = 1.5%.

CTR varies widely by platform, placement and intent: a branded Google search can have a far higher CTR than a cold social ad. Track your own trend rather than chasing someone else’s average.

Questions about the CTR Calculator

How can I improve CTR in Google search results?

Write titles and descriptions that answer the exact query and show what makes the page different. Preview them with our Google SERP snippet preview tool so nothing gets cut off.

Why is my CTR high but conversions low?

The ad promises something the landing page does not deliver, or attracts curious rather than ready buyers. Match the page to the ad and qualify in the ad copy.

Where do I find CTR for my website?

In Google Search Console, under Performance, turn on Average CTR. It shows CTR for every query and page.
